loopwyn vs buying a lead database.
A contact database is a search engine over company data. You pay for access, you build the filters, you export the rows, and then the actual work starts. loopwyn sits at the other end of that process: the filtering, the finding, the verifying and the writing have already happened when your queue appears in the morning. Both are legitimate purchases. They are not the same purchase.
What lead database does better.
Stated plainly, because you'll find out anyway and it's better you hear it here.
Coverage in metros and at enterprise scale
For a listed company in Mumbai, Sydney or London, the large databases have depth we can't match from public sources alone — headcount history, funding, technologies in use, several contacts per department. If your buyer is a VP at a company with a thousand people, the database probably already has them.
It's instant, and it's self-serve
You can sign up this afternoon, run a search and export a thousand rows before dinner. No call, no onboarding week, no dependency on a vendor's schedule. If you want to explore a market's shape before committing to anything, that speed is genuinely valuable.
You own the tool, not a relationship
Nobody else is in the loop. You can change your mind about your target market five times in a week and nobody has to be told. For teams that already have an SDR to do the downstream work, that autonomy is the point.
Side by side
| Aspect | Lead database | loopwyn |
|---|---|---|
| What you receive | Rows matching your filters | One prepared lead per company |
| Finding the right person | You search and choose | Done — one named decision-maker |
| Email accuracy | Whatever the record says | Verified before it reaches you |
| Company research | You do it, per company | Done — with the reason it fits |
| The message | You write it | Written, personalised, editable |
| Tier-2/3 coverage | Thin to absent | The sources we're built on |
| Data freshness | As of the last refresh | Found and verified that morning |
| Your time per lead | 15–30 minutes of research | Read it and decide |
| Commitment | Annual seat licence, typically | Monthly, cancel anytime |
Where they diverge.
The gap between an export and an outreach
A thousand-row export feels like progress and isn't. Somebody still has to open each company's website, work out whether it genuinely fits, decide which of the four listed contacts is the actual decision-maker, check the address is live, and write something that doesn't read like a template. That's fifteen to thirty minutes per lead, and it is the part that gets skipped when the week gets busy. loopwyn's entire proposition is that this work is already finished when you sit down.
Where the databases are actually thin
The large providers are built on the digital exhaust of companies that have plenty of it — funding announcements, job postings, technology footprints, LinkedIn activity. A fifty-person civil contractor in Nashik or Dharashiv generates almost none of that, and is often close to invisible in a commercial database. It is, however, thoroughly present in public tender portals, statutory registers, trade directories and its own website. Those are the sources we're built on, which is why our coverage is strongest exactly where the databases are weakest.
Verified, not asserted
A database record says an address exists. We check that it accepts mail before it reaches your queue, and discard it if it doesn't. That protects your sending reputation, and it means a bounce is our problem rather than yours.
You still send, either way
One thing doesn't change between the two: nobody sends on your behalf. With a database you send from your own tooling; with loopwyn you send from your own accounts. We don't automate WhatsApp or LinkedIn, ever, and we don't want your credentials.
How to decide.
Choose lead database if…
- Your buyers are at large companies in major metros, where database coverage is deep.
- You already have someone whose job is the research and the writing, and what they lack is a list to work from.
- You want to explore several markets quickly before committing to one.
- You need many contacts per company rather than one decision-maker.
Choose loopwyn if…
- Your buyers are tier-2/3 businesses the databases barely carry.
- Nobody on your team has fifteen minutes per lead to spare, and the exports keep going unused.
- You want to send something personal, and personalising at volume is the part that never happens.
- You'd rather pay for finished work than for access to a tool you then have to staff.
The honest summary: if you have the people to do the work after the export, a database is a fine buy and usually a cheaper one. If you don't — and most small teams don't — you are paying for a search engine and quietly not using it.
